Itinerary Trip to Marrakech from Seville for the December long-weekend

  • 5:15 hrs. Meet in Seville, in front of La Puerta del Pabellón de Portugal en la Glorieta del Cid (Prado de San Sebastián)
  • 5.30hrs. Departure for Tarifa
  • Arrive at the port of Tarifa and  and delivery of boarding passes.
  • 09.00hrs. Departure from the fast ferry to Tangier. From the deck of the ship you can see the profile of the hills of the city, dominated by two high towers: that of the Mosque of Mohammed V and that of the Spanish Cathedral. In the background, among the murmur of the waves, one can hear the sound of the muezzin calling to prayer, and that is when we know that we have reached our destination, Morocco: the country of the senses.
  • When we arrive at the port of Tangier, we will meet our accompanying guide, who will tell us where we can change euros to dirhams in the port banks
  • Departure to Rabat, the capital of the country, located on the Atlantic coast, on the south bank mouth of the Bu Regreg River, which separates it from the neighboring city of Salé. Its foundation dates back to the 2nd century BC from which archaeological remains are still preserved in a settlement known as Chellah. In 1195, during the Almohade dynasty, Yaqub al-Mansur designed the construction of a large city that stretched over more than four hundred hectares, surrounded by imposing walls and fortifications with five large gates. It was to be erected in a large mosque with four hundred columns to overcome the Giralda of Seville and the Koutoubia of Marrakech, but the works were halted after his death in 1199. What has survived of this is only the minaret of so-called Hasan Tower of 44 meters, which is twenty less than initially projected.

December 7th: MARRAKECH

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • We begin our visit in Marrakech with the exterior visit of the Kutubía, the sister twin tower of the Seville Spinner and the menara Gardens. Afterwards we will continue towards the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, the exteriors of the Kasbah Mosque. We will finish the day in The Plaza de Jmaa el Fna.
  • Lunch at the hotel

  • Free time for Dinner. We recommend enjoying the Plaza de Jmaa el Fna at night to have your own experience and see how the atmosphere of the place changes.
  • However, the dinner of the renowned Fantasy show Chez Ali, representing the different tribes of Morocco and their equestrian traditions (approx. 500 Dirham), will also be offered as an option.

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Today we will make an excursion to the Ourika Valley, an entrance route to the Great Atlas formed by a green valley, very fertile and located an hour's drive south of Marrakech, in which the picturesque Berber villages cling to steep slopes over a precipitated mountainous area. In the summer, the cold mountains give a welcoming contrast to the intense heat of Marrakech (so the valley is very crowded during summer weekends), while in winter, the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains provide a really overwhelming spectacle.
  • Return to the hotel
  • Dinner and accomodations at the hotel

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check-out
  • Early departure to Casablanca, Morocco's largest city and economic capital of the kingdom, is located on the Atlantic coast south of the capital Rabat. It is the most populous city in the whole country, with almost 6 million inhabitants. In it, we can admire the Hassan II Mosque, designed by the French architect Michel Pinseau, and was inaugurated in 1993 after 22 years of work. This mosque is the highest in the Arab world, the lights of its minaret, 200 meters high, can be seen from many miles away, and is the second largest after the Mosqie of Mecca. This architectural work has the latest technologies such as earthquake resistance, automatic roof, heated floor or electric doors. It is one of the few mosques in the Muslim world that allows non-Muslim tourists to visit.
