Wander through Fez´s open air market and let your senses guide you through its narrow streets, many of which have no outlet, others completely covered, sending you back in time to when markets and bargaining were a way of life.

Itinerary of Sahara Desert Tour from Algeciras 

DAY 1: Algeciras - Tangier - Meknes

  • Presentation in the port of Meeting at the port of Algeciras and delivery of boarding passes. and meeting with the assistant who will give them the boarding cards round trip. The loss of the return boarding pass entails a surcharge of 40 € to be paid at the port for the return. 
  • Departure by ferry to Tangier.
  • When we arrive at the port of Tangier, our guide will meet us.
  • Departure to the Rif mountains, to go to Chefchaouen located in the only intercontinental natural park, declared a natural reserve of the biosphere. Chaouen is a village hanging on the mountain, white and blue, of wise, kind and respectful people, who offer the visitor beautiful urban panoramas in decline, precious samples of local craftsmanship and a peace and serenity that today is difficult to find. From there one leaves with a strong desire to return and stay longer, talk to the people and find peace.
  • Free time for lunch.
  • We continue to Mekness, wonderful monumental city, surrounded by an immense wall of the 16th century of more than 40 kms. of perimeter and that has the pride of possessing one of the most beautiful doors of the whole Morocco, Bab el Mansour.
  • Check in at the Rif 4* hotel.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2 : Azrou - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga (Sahara)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure by bus for a panoramic visit of the city of Meknes, the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, including Bab el Mansur and the peculiar market of supplies.
  • Departure to Azrou, after a brief stop, we continue to Midelt, through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas.
  • Stop en route for lunch.
  • In the afternoon, we will continue our route to Merzouga, where we will leave the vehicle to change to camels, we will cross the field of dunes mounted to camel to sleep in khaimas in the middle of the desert.
  • We will spend the night in khaimas, next to the dunes of Erg Chebbi in the Sahara desert from where we can contemplate a spectacular starry sky
  • Dinner and overnight in Jaimas.
  • After dinner there will be a fire with the music of Berber drums

DAY 3: Rissani - Ifrane - Fez

 

  • Sunrise in the Sahara. Its dunes extend to the horizon and some rise to over 150 m. The experience of seeing the first rays of sunrise in the Sahara is impressive.
  • Today it is obligatory to get up early for an unforgettable date with the sunrise.
  • Return to the Kasbah by 4x4, for this we will border the dune field crossing the tracks that were previously used in the rally to Dakar.
  • Breakfast at the Kasbah.
  • After breakfast we will leave for Fez, the first of the Imperial Cities, its origin dates back to the 8th century. It is also one of the first holy cities of Muslim worship in Morocco and is proud to be home to one of the oldest universities in the world.
  • On the way we will cross the middle and high Atlas, with several stops en route.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

 

DAY 4: Fez

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • We leave for a visit with a local guide of the city of Fez. 
  • We will start with a panoramic view of the city, including the Merinides tombs. 
  • Afterwards we will visit Fez el Jedid, including Alahuita Square, the exterior of the Royal Palace and Dar el Makhzen. 
  • We will continue to the foot visit of Fez el Bali, whose medina has more than 7000 alleys, we will visit the spice souk of Attarin, the souk of Jenna. We will arrive at Nejjarin Square where the founduk of the same name is located and we will visit the Bounania Madrasa. We will continue towards Es Seffarin square to finish the morning in the tanners' quarter and see the tanneries. 
  • Lunch at the hotel. 
  • Afternoon free - dinner free. 
  • We recommend OPTIONAL dinner with folkloric show in local restaurant. 

DAY 5: Chaouen - Tánger - Algeciras

  • Desayuno en el hotel y check-out.
